This Saugatuck style cable rail is located in Stamford, CT. For this project, the customer wished for stainless steel cable rail to be installed on a deck overlooking a stream. The sleek elegance of the cable rail and mahogany finish gives a modern yet rustic touch to this beautiful area of the customer’s property.
The Saugatuck style uses either cedar, mahogany, or ipe wood. Posts are 4″ x 4″. The top rails consist of 2″ x 4″ boards between the posts and a 2″ x 6″ top rail. All of the fittings and cables are made from 316 stainless steel for superior rust resistance. The cable is 1/8″ diameter, and the fittings have a low profile, clean finish. Thin stainless steel cable braces (1/4″ X 1″) were used to maximize post spacing to keep the river view open. The overall effect is a striking addition to this Stamford, CT homeowner’s property.
